In the modern world where video conferences, voice calls, and video calls are becoming increasingly famous, a fully functioning, loud-enough microphone is extremely essential. How can I increase the volume of my mic?

This will pop a window that says, ‘Allow applications to take exclusive control over this device.’ If the box next to these words already has a tick, then be careful to uncheck it. This is most likely going to solve the sound level issue.
I do not have the option to Boost my microphone- what to do?
Sometimes, it can happen that the Microphone Boost option is not available. The audio features usually depend on the drivers installed or the chipset in your computer. When the boost option is not available, there is another option you can try.
First, you can change the port with which you were connecting the microphone. Try a different port. Next, you can run the Recording Audio troubleshooter. Third, you may take a look at the option of updating the drivers. The update drivers part includes updating sound, microphone and audio drivers. This is most likely going to be very useful. If however, it is a Realtek chipset, you can also check the website of Realtek, to get driver updates.
I cannot be heard by others in the Skype calls
When you are using Skype or any such application for voice or video calling in your computer, the first and foremost thing to do is to ensure that your microphone or headset is the application’s default recording device. If it is not, or if you have not checked it yet, this is what you should follow.
If Skype is not open already, choose Skype from your windows to open it. In the top right corner of Skype application, you will find the Contacts List. There comes an option to select More… Then, you must select Settings. In Audio & Video option of Settings, you will find a heading (in bold) which says Microphone.
Clicking on this tab allows you to check if your microphone or headset is already selected or not. Furthermore, there is also the Speakers heading (right below the ‘Automatically adjust microphone settings’ section). Under Speakers, you should make sure to select you preferred speaker or headset as well.
Skype tends to automatically change microphone volumes, so you might want to switch off the automatic microphone volume adjustment option and manually control the volume to ensure it is always at the level you prefer.
