432 Hz or 440 Hz – a debate has been going on between these frequencies for a long time. If you are here, that means you have been caught up in this loop. The 440 Hz is known as Concert Pitch and it uses a starting pitch of A = 440 Hz. In this pitch, the notes are separated by logarithmic equal distances. This results in messy patterns in the cymatics experiment (cymatics experiment states that when frequencies move through a certain medium, they alter the vibration of the matter directly) and non-whole numbers.

The tones of western classical music have varied irregularly over the past centuries. Before, there was not any standardized pitch for the instruments like today. Each of the orchestras would tune to a different set of the pitch. A4 (A above middle C) is taken as the tuning standard for measurement from the 18th century.
The A4 ranges between 480 Hz and 400 Hz. The note depended on the tuning fork since tuning the orchestras to a different pitch was a favorable choice for everyone. After numerous attempts, 440 Hz was set for A4 by the International Organization for Standardization.
A lot of musicians opposed the 440 Hz as the industry standard. They considered 432 Hz more superior to 440 Hz. There are many claims about the 432 Hz being universal frequency. Many of them supported their opposition by saying that the 432 Hz contained spiritual healing properties.
The 432 Hz was created by French physicist Joseph Sauveur in the year 1713 in his attempt to create a philosophical/scientific pitch. In 432 Hz, the middle C – C4 is placed at 256 Hz and A4 is placed at 430.54 Hz. According to Joseph Sauveur, a system is created where each octave falls on an even integer through the placement on middle C. The even integer is much better than the scary dreadful decimals.
